I ordered one of these and it arrived two days later, (Don't you love Prime) anyway I opened the box and I saw the raised bumps in the bottom of the water try. I figured that somehow it had gotten very hot and the plastic bubbled up. when ever I moved it something in the top (inside) was rattling around. I thought "This can't be good" but I wanted to see if it would still work. I charged it for a day. Put in water and the three frozen cubes. It would NOT TURN ON. I figured what ever was rattling around inside the top was the problem. I took the steps to return it and ordered a replacement. The new one arrived a day later (Good old Prime.) This one did not have any rattling. However It had those same bumps in the bottom of the tray. I figured I must have received anther melted one. I called Amazon and told them I hated returning a second one but the one I received as also damaged (the bumps sticking up from the bottom.) plugged it it will not turn on. Soooo I set up another return. I look forward to receiving one that works so I can try it and see if it will work for me. You may ask "So why not wait and write a review when you get your third one?' Great question.. Hopefully someone can learn from my mistake from NOT KNOWING. I was told to order another one from a different company so hopefully I would not get another one from a melted batch. In searching for a replacement. I saw that every display showed the bottom water tray with the raised bumps. So it is NOT a defect or damage as i thought. but designed that way. knowing that now, I took the second one out of the box again and now charging it to see if it will turn on once the battery is charged. If it still will not turn on I will send it back as well and try another seller. two bad ones from the same seller is not good. I am hoping that once the thing is charged it will work...... We will see. if so I will up date this review. I want it to work! Update:: Charged it all night, turned it on and it flashed inside and nothing. both of these had to come from a bad batchNow that I've had this product for a while, I can write an honest review. It's alright. It's not the greatest, but it's not the worst. I purchased it to go in my bedroom, next to my bed. It does blow cool air when the ice packs are in it but it doesn't last very long. It does NOT cool down a hot room very well. But It's a nice little bedside fan though. I like the lights. I use it as a night light sometimes. If you want it to stay on all night then you'll need to leave it on the charger. It's easy to use. Easy to set up. If you're looking to buy something to get the job done though, invest in something more powerful.It doesn't do much. But add the iced packs and put it directly on you and you can feel it well if you're within about a foot from it. I have it on my nightstand and it I drift to the other side of the bed I don't feel it anymore.I think that this fan is appropriate for small spaces,it fans you but doesn't cause a over kill of cool air if you're the type of person that get to cool under aair conditioner . it's good at cooling small rooms,I sat mines on a table top next to my bed,it has three speeds which I really enjoyFairly easy to use, only works in small areas. Ice packs really help to cook area but melt quickly. My main problem is getting it to stay on more than a few hours. My husband's works all night so he says there's a timer in the light button which I am still working on since I prefer not having the light on.I love this product. It gets a lot cooler than I thought it would, and it keeps me fresh. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the chord is broken. I have to wiggle it around for it to work, even if I move it a little the thing turns off. It’s a little frustrating. Other than the chord being messed up this product is awesome ?This actually works well to cool you while you sleep. It isnt going to cool down a whole room, but it does its job well. The only issue is it doesn't last all night long. We took it on a trip and had to keep it plugged in to last while we were sleeping.
